Small, faux tortoise-shell trinket box, hand-painted in the Philippines for Maitland Smith, c.1980s. This petite piece was hand painted a tortoise-shell 'trompe l'oeil' pattern with dynamic color and movement, a cream trim, and high-gloss lacquered finish. The perfect pop of character for coffee table or shelf styling. In good vintage condition with small chips in the finish. Unsigned, but unmistakable companion to documented designs.
